Mckay began taking guitar lessons when he was 12 years old from a guitar teacher who taught him for 7 years. Lessons helped Mckay learn the instrument much faster, and gain confidence in other aspects of his life like school. When he was 16 he started teaching and found that he enjoyed it just as much as playing. While attending Berklee College of Music, he took classes that would help prepare him for being a teacher and was influenced by the example of many great teachers at the school. McKay currently is the guitar professor at Southern Utah University and teaches over 60 students per week. He offers guitar and bass lessons to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students.

Lesson Options
Mckay is available to teach most days of the week. Students have the options of choosing any one of the following lesson types.
- 1/2 hour, or 1 hour lessons
- Private, Buddy (2 at a time), or group (3 or more) lessons
- Electric guitar, Acoustic guitar, or Bass guitar
